What are the usage scenarios of dynamic UTM parameters?
Asked 3 years ago
I recently learned about UTM parameters and how helpful they are to Shopify merchants, and I'm trying to figure out how to make my business operate better. I want to start using them in my business strategy, but I'm not sure how dynamic UTM parameters work exactly. Could someone kindly advise?

UTM parameters are a seamless solution to monitor your online traffic without the disturbance of third-party cookies or Facebook Pixel. UTM parameters are short text codes you can incorporate into your URLs or links. This way, you'll be able to drive valuable insights in your analytics report about the performance of your site or campaign.
Enlisted below are the five sets of UTM parameters and their use cases:
- UTM Campaign: This tells you more about the specific campaign you're running.
- UTM Medium: Used to determine the traffic channels with multiple sources like social, organic, paid, email, affiliates, etc.
- UTM Source: Pinpoints an individual traffic source from the traffic channel (i.e., Channel: Social - Source: Instagram).
- UTM Term: Used to differentiate two different links within a single campaign.
- UTM Content: Helps with tracking specific keywords for paid organic campaigns.
