What does CPA mean in advertising?

I know that cost per action involves dividing costs by actions, but how does this fit into advertising specifically? Is "cost per action" the same thing as "cost per acquisition" or are they different things entirely?

Cost Per Acquisition and Cost Per Action both mean the same, it’s an important metric in digital advertising when measuring successful conversions. It tells you whether your advertising strategy is working or not and gives you control over tracking and maximizing the ROI across various channels. You can control your advertising costs since you only pay for an ad when a specific action is completed.
