What is the lookback window for in Google Analytics?

A lookback window describes how far back you can trace visitors to your page or site and track your users over a long period of time. By default, Google Analytics gives you a lookback window of 30 days, which means it will only take into consideration any visits made by users within 30 days before a conversion.
